The Nerdiness of Our Lives..

Getting up before 9 every morning to watch Live with Regis and Kelly in hopes that we'll be called to win the Secret Wild Travel Trivia. (We can dream, right?)

Going to Wal-Mart at midnight to get Star Wars Battlefront 2. There will be people coming into Wal-Mart at midnight to get Episode 3, but not Battlefront 2, so I'm sure we'll get looks. For the past few weeks we've been preparing for the new Battlefront by playing the old one.

Letting the bunny out of his cage in the morning and watching him play (well, mostly sleep) all day. This is all we do: watch Regis and watch Browny. Pretty pathetic, I know.

This is the first picture I took after we got our camera. I had to put it on here. See what's in the background? I'm sure we'll stop there before we go to Wal-Mart tonight.

Finally!

Today was the day. We got a camera! I have been taking pictures of Browny non-stop. There's a possibility that I may have taken too many pictures already.

Here's Browny licking Aaron. The rabbit does this constantly. A lot of the time Aaron has to brush the bunny aside because he gets annoyed with the licking. Personally, I think the bunny licks him because he thinks he needs a bath.

Browny has his own personal space underneath one of the tables (at least he thinks he does). I've learned that sometimes he doesn't want us under there petting him. The other day I went to pet him and he nudged my hand away. I thought this was funny so I went to pet him again and I got nudged again. The third time I went to pet him he gave me a warning nibble. The next time he might not be so nice. I think he just tries to act tough. You can see in this pic that when I put my hand down by his "space" he kind of lunges for it. Amusing..

Browny likes to play with everything! Here he was playing with my hat. When he realizes that I am watching him he tries to get real small and hide. Nice try rabbit, I still see you...

Here's Browny doing his cute bunny thing. He is just so adorable! I love it! He'll sit under the table and clean himself for hours. I think that and sleeping are his favorite things to do. He's becoming lazy and fat.

Another Morning

Browny didn't do well with the puppy. I'm beginning to think that he doesn't like other animals at all. All he does is thump when anything is near him, well, except for us of course.

I put Browny back in his cage last night because I knew he was scared of Zoey. I left the cage door open though because I thought maybe he would get curious and come out. He did. It wasn't good though. He would come into the living room, see Zoey, thump and hide. I was like what is the point of this? So I put him in the cage and latched it shut.

Browny is doing a lot better today.I was laying on the couch trying to sleep and Browny kept jumping up on the couch. So I would wake up, pet him, and he would hop down. About 2 minutes later he would jump back up again. I started to get annoyed with this game so I put him on the rocking chair, hoping that he would just lay down and sleep. I watched him sniff the chair and try to reach the top. I thought there is no way that he will be able to jump to the top of the chair. I was wrong. He jumps to the top, lays down, and falls asleep. Very odd. It was the perfect kodak moment. I'm working on Aaron, hoping to get a camera soon.

Tonight

Tonight Aaron is going to Drew's to play through some video game. He told me he doesn't know what time he'll be home (probably an all night thing). So I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to hang out with a few of my girlfriends.

Jayme is coming over after class, bringing Zoey, and some movies. I'm going to show her how to make puppy chow and than we're going to eat it all (which she is not supposed to have sugar so this will be interesting). I'm excited to see how Browny and Zoey interact. I'm hoping to get pictures. Hopefully, since Browny will be in his home turf he'll be fine with having the puppy in the house.

Cuteness

I'm hoping to get a camera sometime soon we can capture Browny doing the cute bunny things that he does. Like licking our faces, stretching out to full capacity when we scratch his ears, and running around like a mad bunny.

I brought Browny over to my friend, Jayme's house about 2 weeks ago. Jayme has a 2 month old puppy, named Zoey. Once Zoey realized that there was a bunny in the apartment she started running around like crazy, sniffing Browny, and trying to lick her. Browny doesn't do well with dogs, especially puppies. The only reason that Browny is that close to Zoey in the pic is because Zoey is sleeping. I think Browny realized that he could go and smell her and wouldn't be attacked.

Fall Retreat Pics

At the Fall Retreat Michelle gave me her camera and told me to take as many pics as I wanted. Here's a few of those.

We stopped in Maple Grove on the way down to Rochester. We did a little shopping and had lunch. If you ever get a chance to stop there you should! In this pic you can sorta see the shops. The place was just amazing. There's a water fountain right in the middle of it all.

We got to the retreat a few hours before it started so Brit and I did a little exploring. I love this picture. There's not a ripple in that water!

Here's a shot I took during worship. I don't have much to say. I think it's great when people are worshiping the Lord.

Who Said It?

"I don't think anyone loves that little bunny more than me."

To a dear friend...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE! I hope you have a great day. We all love you so much!

"Beam Me Up, Scotty!"

Evidently "Star Trek" actor James "Scotty" Doohan took the catchphrase "beam me up" very seriously--his cremated remains are being launched into space in accord with his last wishes.

Space Services Inc., a commerical launch operator, is due to send the late actor's remains into space aboard its Explorers Flight as early as December 6th, a company spokeswoman said Friday.

Doohan, who portrayed feisty chief engineer Montgomery "Scotty" Scott on the "Star Trek" television series, died in July at age 85. On the program, when Capt. James Kirk ventured off the spaceship Enterprise and faced peril, he would ask Scotty to "beam" his body up to the safety of the ship.

To mark the flight into his final frontier, Doohan's family will hold a service for fans on a 60-acre site near Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., on the day of the launch to pay tribute to him. Some fans are expected to attend in the formal white suit of a Star Fleet commander.

Candy, candy, candy...

As a wedding gift we got a pretty glass bowl. Aaron insists that it should always be full of candy. The bowl was getting empty, and I was on my way to Wal-Mart, so I figured I should get some more candy.

Since halloween is a few weeks away there is an over abundance of candy to choose from. I always go for the mix because I like to have the variety. So I'm looking at the candy, trying to decide what mix to get. Should I get regular and peanut M&M's? Or should I go for the mix with that Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Hershey's Bars, and Baby Ruth?

The truth is that when we have a mix there's always a candy bar that we don't like. It always ends up rotting in the bottom of the bowl. Last time it was Nestle Crunch Bar. I was going to get the Reese's Mix but I knew that those plain chocolate Hershey bars would sit there and never get eaten.

So what did I do? I said what the heck I'm going to make my own variety. I bought my candy and went home. Than Aaron walked in the door.

He's like,"Ooh, candy! Nice mix you got. Wow, I didn't know that Twix, Dots, and Peanut Butter Cups came in the same bag."

I said,"Well, umm, they don't."

This is the point where his eyes bugged out. "You mean to tell me you bought three bags of candy today!"

"Well, yeah, I couldn't decide what mix I wanted to get and I knew that we would end up not eating all of the candy. But, hey, they were only like $2 a bag! That's a pretty good deal. Plus, I figured the candy would last for awhile."

He's like,"Well, ok. That's not so bad."

At this point I was very relieved because I knew that Aaron understood my logic, whether or not it was right.

Those Big Brown Eyes

On Saturday we decided to go home for the weekend. We brought Browny with because I figured that everyone would want to see him. And I think they did.

When we got there we let Browny out of his cage. He was alright until he realized that 20 people were staring at him. Than he had to go around and smell everybody. I don't think he really got used to anybody though. Just too much going on for the little guy.

I can say one good thing about Browny. He likes to lick. If you've held him you've probably know what I'm talking about. It's just so cute when he does it. I read that it's rare when rabbits lick. I think we've lucked out. He licks everybody. Just ask the lil' Penny. She got most of the licking this weekend.

The Open Road

Her blog got me thinking. I'd love to just drive off, not sure where to, who with, or where I'd stay. Just the thought of being free is enough.

This day is perfect for driving. Not a cloud in the sky.

Maybe this thinking has something to do with the fact that I am stuck working on a beautiful Friday night.

I have too much time on my hands to think about what I want to do; instead I am dealing with this responsibility called a jorb.

LOST

When LOST started last year I watched the first few episodes. I thought,"Ah, it's alright." Well, this year Aaron and I have been watching it. The show is addicting. Every Wednesday night at 8 we're glued to the t.v. for an hour (basically, the only hour of tv I watch a week). It seems that the hour goes by so fast and we hardly learn anything new.

I like that we don't learn everything at once. Last night I was saying to Aaron,"Why can't I just know what happened on the island? I want to know what's so magical about it." His answer,"Now, Jill, you know if they told us what happened that would be the end of the show. Don't be so impatient." Me? Impatient? Ha! (No, it's true. I've very impatient.)

It seems that this show is the only thing worth watching. Does anybody know anything else that's worth watching?

*Plus, the show has Merry and the Livelinks girl. How can you beat that?

October, the Bestest of Months

The crisp autumn air and the warm hues of orange, yellow, and red leaves are just a few reasons why I love fall, and in particular the month of October.

It's the end of summer and the beginning of a long winter.

Even though winter is not my favorite season I welcome the change. I love this time of year when the leaves are changing, the geese are preparing for their trip south, and children are making piles of leaves and jumping in them (I do this too).

I love the "sweatshirt weather," going outside on long walks and looking at all the trees. (I feel like this sentence was for a single women's ad "I love long walks on the beach, movies, and sitting by the fireplace.")

Oh yeah, you can't forget that my birthday is in October. Maybe that's why I think it's the bestest of months.

More Browny and Other Things

We (Aaron and I) got back last night from a Chi Alpha retreat down by Rochester. I had a really great time and learned alot. It takes time to process everything so I won't blog much about that now.

While we were gone Browny was fine. I know some of you were worried about him. The first thing that I did when I walked in the door was let him out of his cage. I could tell that he was excited to be out because he constantly ran around the apartment with no signs of stopping.

We're trying to litterbox train Browny. I don't think it's going to be that hard. Once he's litterbox trained it will be nice because I won't have to worry about him leaving pellets around the apartment.

That's about it for now. I really don't have anything interesting to say. I'm still kind of blah from the weekend. I'll write some more interesting stuff when I've caught up on my sleep.

Adventures of Browny the Rabbit

One of Browny's favorite things to do is smell Aaron's feet. For some reason every time he sees Aaron that's the first thing he'll do. Wonder why?

Yesterday Aaron was sitting on the floor eating french fries and Browny came up to him. Now Browny doesn't usually do this. If Aaron even looks at him he'll run away. But Browny smelled the food and his curiosity got the best of him. Browny went up to Aaron and hopped on his legs. Aaron kind of pushed him aside but the rabbit jumped right back up and started smelling the plate.

Finally, Aaron gave the bunny a fry. The bunny wasn't into the fry though because he sniffed it, turned around, and found something better. Aaron's glass of milk! Browny started to lick the glass and I'm sure he would have taken a drink if Aaron hadn't been there. Aaron glared at the bunny and moved the glass. I guess Aaron didn't want Browny drinking his milk.

You May Be Addicted to Narnia If...

You randomly knock on the back of wardrobes.. just in case. (I admit I used to to do this when I was little.)

You have named one or more pets after a character from the books.

You have named one or more CHILDREN after a character from the books.

You're considering taking a trip to London just to attend the world premier, even though you live in the U.S.

Everyone who is a big jerk you consider to be a Eustace Clarence Scrubb.

Everytime you go to the zoo, you stop and talk to the lions, just in case one of them is Aslan.

You (unlike Caspian) can remember all seven names of the lost lords.

You refuse the offer to try some Turkish Delight, claiming you're avoiding sweets.

You have read each book seven times.

You get excited when somebody nearby has a horn and constantly try to blow it to see who will come.

Seeing a lamp post makes you happy!

It's true.

It's true. I got a bunny from Aaron for my birthday. He's cute and he's brown. Aaron named him Browny (original isn't it?).

Oh, and the bunny will not become food..

One of Those Days?

It started when I turned the faucet on in the bathtub. The water started out fresh and clear. As it came pouring out the water started to turn brown, than finally, black.

What a nice way to start out the day. I wasn’t angry yet, just frustrated.

I thought better of stepping in the tub so I washed my hair in the sink.

I decided than to get myself a bowl of Frosted Flakes. I took the bowl of cereal into the living room. I sat on the couch and leaned down to pick up a book. As I leaned down, I realized something. The bowl leaned down too. That meant that I had poured milk and cereal all over myself and a little bit on the couch.

So, I put the bowl of cereal (which was soggy by now) on the couch and got up to get some paper towel to clean up my mess. After cleaning up my mess, I sat down on the couch next to the cereal. A funny thing happened. As I sat down, the couch cushion with the bowl of cereal went up. Can you guess what happened next? Cereal and milk all over the couch!

Yes, today was definitely one of those days.
