Not Anything

We bought a matching car seat and stroller a few months ago and decided to put the car seat in the van on Sunday. Aaron took the car seat out of the box and I realized it was the wrong one. I'm not sure how two people can miss a thing like that? Who knows.

So, we went to Target in hopes of exchanging the wrong one for the right one. First mistake- no receipt. They told us they could run a credit card or check through their system and see if our car seat had been bought there. Second mistake- I decided not to bring my purse so our checks were at home. We ran back home, got my purse, and headed back to Target. We got back, they ran my check through their system, and nothing showed up. Apparently, they only keep record up to the last 90 days. And we had bought it months ago.

The customer service lady said that twice a year things can be exchanged without a receipt. We decided to use this and went to the back of the store to grab the right car seat. The only car seat left in the store was the one we already had. And the box was wide open and the contents all over the place. I felt like I was in Wal-Mart.

So we went back to the front, grabbed our lovely car seat, and headed to Wal-Mart. A friend of Aaron's said that Wal-Mart will take back anything. Anything. So, I ripped the Target sticker off the car seat box and into Wal-Mart Aaron went. I had to sit this one out.

I waited a few minutes and than looked out the window and here comes Aaron carrying the car seat. I had to laugh.

He got into the van and I said, "Well, what did the lady say?"

"We don't take back items that aren't in our store."

We had to try.

That frustrates me about Target- they want you to do bridal registry & baby registry there, but you can only return things 2 times a year. One time I went to exchange a Dora view master to Target and she told me that this $.99 view master would count for 1 of my annual exchanges. I told her to never mind. Went to WalMart (although it was originally purchased at Target) and they exchanged it no problem!

Ahh and it's only going to get worse.

It's frustrating but funny. And in the long run not really a big deal. But it makes a good story!
